Getting Started
Get started with BluePosGo SDKs!
Overview
In the BluePOS Go Getting Started, we introduced the ID TECH VP3350 in fully-integrated mode: a ready-to-use Go app with its own UI and capabilities for the merchant.
The VP3350 sits on top of the merchant's device and connects over Bluetooth to iOS and Android device (e.g. phones and tablets). It also supports semi-integrated mode, which gives the merchant more control and room to customize the experience.
In the semi-integrated mode, the VP3350 employs the BluePosGoSDK. BluePosGoSDK lets an iOS/Android app launch BluePOS Go, send a payment request, and receive the result when BluePOS Go returns to the app. It supports initialization, payments, transaction history, refunds, capture, clear-data reads, and rebooting the paired reader.
The SDK's primary purpose is to connect a third-party app to BluePOS Go. You can build your own payment UI and flow while Bluefin handles the rest of the integration.
Bluefin provides two implemention versions of BluePosGoSDKs depending on the platform you are integrating with:
- iOS SDK (Written in Swift, Deep Linking)
- Android SDK (Written in Kotlin, AIDL interface)
It is important to note that while BluePosGo App is written and implemented in Go, its SDK are not. These SDKs serve as a communication bridge to the BluePosGo App once it returns the result.
For example, the iOS SDK uses the callback (deep linking) URL scheme whereas the Android SDK binds to the (BluePOS Go) AIDL service to communicate with the app.
Requirements and Notes
- Unlike the fully-integrated mode that requires a login, the semi-integrated mode with the SDK does not require a login as it already requires the merchant to be integrated with Bluefin and provide API credentials.
- Integration with Bluefin: A PayConex account and at least one API key are required. For key setup, see API Key Management.
- The SDK does not process payments directly
- The SDK acts as a communication layer between your application and BluePOS
- BluePOS must always be installed and running on the device
- All configuration must be done in BluePOS itself
- Make sure to go through the entire integration checklist before deploying your SDK-driven device into production.
📘 Supported Hardware and BluePOS Go Support
Make sure you are up-to-speed with the device's capabilities and features from our BluePOS Go User Guide:
Both SDKs call Bluefin PayConex services directly through the gateway API. For the comprehensive documentation on our gateway API, see Bluefin's PayConex™ V4 API Documentation.
