PayConex - 08.27.2024

In this release, we've focused on enhancing security, improving accessibility, and adding new features to our systems to better serve our users. Below is a summary of the key updates, bug fixes, and new features included in this release.

Key Updates and Enhancements

Improving Screen Reader Accessibility on PayConex Hosted Payment Form
We have made significant improvements to the accessibility of our Hosted Payment Form. These enhancements include:

  • Implementing a lang attribute in the HTML document for better text rendering by screen readers.
  • Associating form labels clearly with their respective fields, ensuring they are easily identifiable by screen readers.
  • Reassessing the use of placeholder text to provide clearer guidance.
  • Thorough testing across various screen readers to ensure all form elements are accessible.

Annual Recurring Payments on Specific Dates
Merchants using PayConex for recurring payments can now select annual recurring payments on specific dates, including those that fall on the 29th, 30th, and 31st of a month. This enhancement accommodates customer requests for annual transactions on specific dates, aligning with their fiscal requirements. The update includes:

  • Flexible date handling for valid dates within a given month.
  • Annual period-specific validation ensuring date accuracy.
  • User interface updates for easier selection.
  • Backward compatibility with existing setups.

Addition of phoneCountryCode Parameter to PayConex API
We have updated the PayConex API (QSAPI) to include a new parameter, phoneCountryCode, to better support international phone numbers. This update ensures:

  • Proper handling and validation of the phoneCountryCode parameter.
  • Backward compatibility with existing implementations.

Increased Limit for Reportable Fields on Hosted Payment Forms and Custom Reports
Users can now add up to 25 reportable fields to their hosted payment forms and custom reports, allowing for more detailed data capture and reporting.

Bug Fixes

Hosted Payment Form Access Issue
An issue where Hosted Payment Forms could be erroneously accessed by deleting specific elements from the HTML on the page. We've implemented a fix to enforce the presence of these fields, thereby preventing this bypass.

Hosted Payment Form CVV & Zip Requirement Validation
We've addressed a security concern where the CVV and ZIP validation for Hosted Payment Forms was only occurring on the frontend. The validation now correctly occurs on the server side again as well, ensuring that transactions are not approved without proper validation.

Custom Report Account Selection Error
An issue affecting PayConex accounts set up as agent accounts was identified where an error message incorrectly prompted users to select an account from a dropdown, even when an agent account was selected by default. The issue has been resolved to prevent unnecessary steps and confusion during custom report creation.

Digital Wallet Transaction Issues on Hosted Payment Forms
It was reported some merchants had experienced issues with Apple Pay and Google Pay transactions on our hosted payment forms, where transactions returned an erroneous response code "99999" with the message "RESPONSE UNREADABLE." This issue has been resolved to ensure that these transactions return the correct response codes and messages, reflecting the actual transaction outcome.
